Brief Description:  Tying up firewall forward loose ends

I started the day by inspecting yesterdays paint on the rudder and vertical stabilizer. On both units the paint looked very good on the aluminium but I had bad runs on the tip fairings. So I sanded the fairings then resprayed them. Next I secured the wiring for the fuel pump and fuel flow transmitter and some general tidy up of the wiring below the instrument panel. My brother Bernie came by so we carried on with firewall forward items. First we fit the engine crankcase breather pressure tube. Next we installed the cotter pins for the engine lower mount bolts. Then we ran the magneto manifold pressure tubing. Following this we connected the engine oil sump heater wiring. Then we connected the battery negative terminal along with the battery minder harness. I also lock wired the engine oil filter. To finish off on firewall forward items for the day we added corseal lacing on various items like fuel feed lines to ensure no chafing takes place with engine mount tubes or other lines. To finish for the day we removed the masking from the rudder and vertical stabilizer and stored them back in the basement to make room in the spray booth for the horizontal stabilizer. We then cleaned, etched and abraded the horizontal stabilizer and hung it in the paint booth to dry in preparation for priming and painting.
